Entered four photos in the Iowa State Fair Photography Salon this summer and three were selected for display. I also got my first award, a blue ribbon for first place in the Downtown Places and Faces category with Japanese Garden IR (pictured below), an infrared shot of a garden near the Des Moines Botanical Center downtown. So incredibly happy about this!!!!
Shot at another fire department training burn recently! Very exciting and awesome shots! Will upload some soon. In the meantime, four of my photos from the first training burn made it in a publication! Iowa Firefighter Nov 2013 issue, vol 13, no 5, the official publication for the Iowa Firefighter's Association. This shot made the cover!!! So exciting!!! This photo was also selected for display at the Iowa State Fair Photography Salon this year and made a brief appearance on a PBS documentary on the judging of this event.
I did my first professional paid senior portrait shoot this August. The photos turned out great! Here's one of the shots. Had a great subject!
Got the chance to shoot another concert! So excited!! Another up-and-coming country music singer by the name of Gwen Sebastian. She was on American Idol. She is amazing in concert! So much energy and a blast to shoot!

I finally got to do this shoot I have been wanting to do for months. We did some character portraits of Sydney in front of this tiny old gas station that is down the street. Don't have the data left to upload all the photos. Next month! But here's a sneakpeek!

So, I had the opportunity to shoot the great and beautiful Sydney Lett in concert again last night. She played at an interesting venue in Waukee at Tuesdays on the Triangle. It was an old church. Hope to post some photos soon!

My site has been up for a few months, but I haven't done too much in the way of marketing yet. This is only the beginning of my new endeavor! I am just beginning my business in photography. I am going to attempt to blog at least weekly on my latest shoots. Please check back frequently for updates.
My most recent shoot was an outdoor concert at Smokin' in the Junction in Valley Junction over Memorial Day weekend. You can see several shoots on my site with this lovely country music singer by the name of Sydney Lett, including several concerts and some head shots. She is a doll!
